If you have one client and due to some reasons the work from that client dries up then what do you do? Maybe client goes out of your business or just has lull in business.
So you have to lose your main source of income. Bringing in some extra income can mean the difference between being comfortable or stressed out.
Some freelancers have one or two main clients and are happy to focus on those alone. But it’s a big mistake according to experienced freelancers.

Have multiple clients

If you rely or depend on your main client, then slowly start branching out to new clients. It’s doesn’t mean you add new client without any choice, but bunch to add new clients step by step. At one stage, you need to ensure that these clients fit with you. If they are fits on your criteria, then keep them; if not then dump them professionally. But you have to aim a wider variety of clients if you don’t want any collapse in your business.

Have a full-time job

You may have a full-time job and I don’t recommend quitting outright. If you don’t really need the income anymore then keeps the full-time job in some capacity just to ensure that you have that regular paycheck coming in. Read more →
